Victorian President's Blog: New, contemporary design for Engineers Australia Victoria office Friday, 28 August 2015

I certainly hope our revamped eNewsletter has caught your attention. This format, combined with the new look create magazine, will be a new and exciting way of engaging members and guests with what we, in Victoria, are doing to promote the engineering profession across this great State.

We are extremely excited about the impending move to 600 Bourke Street, in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. A journey that began almost five years ago, spanning the tenure of four division presidents, is about to be realised.

This new, contemporary space is designed to capture the imagination, and reflect Engineers Australia’s vision as the global home for engineering professionals.

Once the relocation process is complete, I will be hosting an official opening ceremony to lift the veil on what will be a new era for Engineers Australia.

During one of my earliest remarks as President of Victoria Division, I noted that this was a good time to be an engineer. I have not waivered in that belief and I hope you will join me at 600 Bourke St. to see exactly why.

In this regard, it has been very pleasing for me to follow the Infrastructure Victoria Bill’s passage through State Parliament, which looks set to become law within weeks. This is something that Engineers Australia has been calling for, for over 10 years.

As my tenure draws to a close, I can advise that Mr Chris Stoltz FIEAust CPEng EngExec has been elected Victoria Division President for 2016. Chris brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role and I have no doubt he will continue to serve the members and our profession with great aplomb.
