August Engineering vacancy rates Friday, 11 September 2015

Figures released by the Department of Employment in their August 2015 Vacancies Report show both general and professional vacancies have seen a slight increase towards the end of July 2015, however vacancies for engineers have tracked downward with a fall of 0.7% following on from previous falls of 0.5% in June and 0.4% in May.

In trend terms, the report shows there were 2255 engineering vacancies across the country in July 2015, compared to 2433 and 3080 at the same time in 2014 and 2013 respectively.

When comparing state based performance, Tasmania and the Northern Territory have had the highest rate of growth in engineering jobs, while in Queensland engineering vacancies declined.
