The Institution of Engineers Australia, trading as Engineers Australia, and its overseas chapters, affiliates and related bodies corporate as detailed in our Privacy Policy, (collectively referred to in this notice as “Engineers Australia”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. This notice provides you with important information about the personal information that we collect, why we collect this information and your rights and options in relation to this. In completing or applying for a membership or migration skills assessment, we or our third party service providers may collect certain personal information about you in connection with this process. This information may include the personal information that you or your authorised representatives (such as your migration agent) provides to us in connection with the application and assessment process, including, where applicable, your name, date of birth, contact details, qualifications and education information, identification and legal documentation (such as passport). We may also collect your assessment or test results.

We may collect personal information from your referees, the persons or entities that you have authorised share personal information with us, and such other third parties as set out in our Privacy Policy.

We collect this information to assess or verify skills assessments and membership applications in order to ensure that application and assessment criteria are met.

We will use your personal information for the above purposes, and we may also use it for the purposes set out in our Privacy Policy. We may disclose that information to our third party service providers and to other third parties as set out in our Privacy Policy or as communicated to you.

If the above personal information is not collected, we may not be able to review and approve your skills assessment or membership application or assessment. There may be other consequences as set out in our Privacy Policy.

From time to time, we may transfer personal information to entities that are located in other countries, for example, our overseas service providers. We will only do this where it is necessary or appropriate to achieve the purposes set out in this notice or our Privacy Policy.
