Chartered Achievement - Ben Turner MIEAust CPEng Thursday, 24 September 2015

During his seven years at Santos he has worked on roster in various Cooper Basin field locations, on secondments to Exxon Mobil in Papua New Guinea and to Premier Oil in Vietnam and is currently the Risk and Reliability Team Leader for the Moomba Plant.

“Gaining chartered status (CPEng) is something that I’ve always been encouraged to do by my professional mentors. My first supervisor after graduation was a firm believer in meeting and maintaining a minimum professional standard, one that CPEng qualifications demonstrate, and this theme has carried throughout my career” says Ben. “I’ve seen first-hand the global recognition of the qualification, and whilst valued by Santos, it was also something that as an engineer I wanted to achieve. I feel CPEng brings credibility to the profession as a whole and to me on an individual level.”

“Ben’s willingness to take on the challenges of many and varied assignments has helped demonstrate his personal commitment, technical proficiency, obligation to his community and his value to Santos for industry peers to judge him as a capable, independent engineer” says Professional Development Program coordinator Raimond Sils. “It’s been great to see his dedication to becoming Chartered, which is a great example of the attitude he, and many of his fellow engineers have towards the profession”
