Meet Malaysia's new EngExecs Wednesday, 26 October 2016

EA Malaysia Chapter congratulates Mr Lee Choong Wei, Mr Kesavan Jaganathan and Mr Brett Smythe on their achievements and for their leadership of the Malaysia engineering profession.

Mr Lee Choong Wei

Lee has 18 years of experience in the railway industry and is currently employed by MMC-Gamuda JV as a Senior Systems Manager, Systems Assurance, with the responsibility to manage project requirements.

He was previously the Head of Project Management Office with Scomi Rail, a leading provider of public transportation solutions with expertise in the field of urban transport solutions and is globally recognised for high-quality, sophisticated and cost-effective manufacturing.

Lee obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in 1996 in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University of Sussex at Brighton, UK. 

Mr Kesavan Jaganathan

Kesavan has more than 21 years of experience in leading Sustainable Building Services, Building Engineering, District Energy, Project Management of Multidiscipline Engineering & EPCM Contracts, Feasibility, Peer Review and Infrastructure works in South East Asia and the Middle East.

He is currently the Head of the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) and Civil & Structural(C&S) Building Engineering business sector at AECOM Malaysia. 

Prior to this, his appointment as a Commercial Manager and Project & Business Development Manager entails dealing with company commercial activities which encompasses engineering commercial and technical matters, contractual and risk management, procurement, financial modelling, business plan, asset management, data analysis and business development.

Kesavan obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in 1995 in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Mr Brett Smythe

Brett has extensive experience in developing business as well as forming, and leading, strategic relationships with financiers, end users, consultants and contracting partners, across PPP, EPC, PMCM and alliance delivery models.

He is currently the Vice President in Construction Services South East Asia - P&L and responsible for both client "for-fee"​ PMCM as well as contractor "at-risk" EPCM / EPC construction delivery across the SE Asia footprint.

He has a background of P&L general management of multi-disciplinary construction and engineering business across transport, civil infrastructure works, building and heavy industrials, oil & gas, tunnelling and mining infrastructure sectors.

Brett obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and Honours in Civil Engineering from the University of Newcastle.
