Young Engineers Australia (YEA) is the single largest subgroup within the Engineers Australia engineering community. For more than 25 years YEA has existed to represent, support and provide a voice for young engineers in Australia.
YEA has a current membership base of 40,000-plus young engineers Australia-wide. With branches in every state and territory, it is highly effective in helping young engineers to grow and establish themselves as highly respected members of the engineering community.

Resources
If you’re still studying or have recently graduated, we’ve developed resources and online tools to help young engineers to prepare for the world of work.
- Virtual work experience – bridge the gap between university theory and working practice by completing virtual work experience. We’ve partnered with Prosple to deliver eight virtual work experiences across 18 engineering disciplines. Each one takes between two and five hours to finish and are accessed via the member portal.
- Job seeker resources – designed specifically for engineering job seekers, these resources provide tips on writing cover letters and CVs, networking, elevator pitches and making the most of LinkedIn.
- Get work-ready – visit EA OnDemand to see early career resources to help you get work-ready.
- Jobs board – get an advantage in the jobs market and find roles that are only advertised through the jobs board.
Visit our extensive resource library to read technical material, papers and a range of publications.
Engage with us
Engage with YEA members through various online channels including the YEA LinkedIn page and on EA Xchange. You can also network with other engineering community members on EA Xchange, it’s a good way to build networks with other engineers in various disciplines all around the country.
Each year Engineers Australia recognises outstanding engineering students who will contribute to the future of the profession with the Institution Graduate and College National Graduate Awards. Learn more about our Tertiary awards.
