Overview

Join Women in Engineering for a masterclass to inspire women to create a vision board and manifest their future goals.

This session will include guest speakers who will walk you through their careers, followed by a group brainstorm activity around key career change points, milestones, blockers as well as long-term end goals. Individuals will then create their own vision boards and career maps to take home. These boards will inspire and be a constant reminder of the future goals you wants to achieve.

Learning outcomes

  • Discover how to overcome challenges and obstacles to reach an end goal in your career. 
  • Learn about different career pathways in engineering.
  •  Learn to visually map long-term goals and a career pathway, focusing on the next 5-10 years.

About the presenters

Sarah is a passionate, self-driven and hands-on engineer with over 10 years of professional experience across various industries and disciplines. 

She studied and started her career in France before moving to Australia 10 years ago. Sarah has held multiple positions ranging from engineering sales to operations and commissioning. Her career has taken her to many places including India and Chile. 

Sarah is now working as a senior project manager in the water industry, focusing on the development of circular economy projects.

Senior Engineer & Team Leader of Planning in the Water Infrastructure and Planning Business Group, GHD Sydney

Ricky Bligh is a Chartered Professional Engineer and Fellow with Engineers Australia; completing her studies in civil/environmental engineering with honors some 25 years’ ago. Ricky’s rewarding and diverse Engineering career has seen her undertake roles nationally and internationally within the water industry.  Now Sydney based, she continues to work with a diverse range of clients within both regional and major city organisations.

Ricky’s current Senior Engineer and Team Leader of Planning roles within GHD’s Water Infrastructure and Planning Business Group provides her opportunity to exercise her passion regards sustainability as she supports the strategic planning and design of water, recycled water and wastewater assets. She believes Engineers have the ability to influence and deliver a future we all wish to live in.

Ricky carries this focus on the environment into her personal life, gaining work-life-balance through her other passion - ocean swimming.

Jessica has 22 years of national and international professional consulting experience. During the last 14 years at GHD, Jessica has taken on various technical and project leadership roles and is currently the Technical Services Leader for Sydney, Australia, and the acting General Manager for Technical Services in the U.K and Middle East. Passionate about women in STEAM careers, Jessica is also the Australian Chair for WinG (Women in GHD) and continuously looks to guide, encourage and empower ideas and opportunities for women.

Li-Anne Tung is a chemical engineer and project manager of twenty years international experience. She is passionate about delivering great project outcomes and enjoys developing teams to their potential. 

Li-Anne is GHD Sydney region's Water Infrastructure and Planning Business Group Leader, where she works with a team of highly skilled professionals to create multidisciplinary water infrastructure solutions.
