Overview

Is it important to you to share your passion for engineering? How can you make a difference and lead young people and communities towards loving and trusting your work? This hands on course is an overview of strategies used by the best STEM communicators to effectively connect with school students and general public.

Presented by Carla Eisemberg Senior Lecturer – STEM Pathways and Associate Dean of Innovation for the Faculty of Science and Technology at Charles Darwin University. 

Learning outcomes

  1. Overview of small engineering engagement projects implementation, including creating, planning, delivering and reporting. 
  2. Ethics considerations in a STEM engagement and communication program context.
  3. Reflect on your communication and engagement strengths and weaknesses and how to develop your STEM engagement and communication skills.

Dr Carla Eisemberg is the Senior Lecturer in STEM Pathways and the Associate Dean of Innovation for the Faculty of Science and Technology at Charles Darwin University, Australia. Carla leads STEM communication and engagement projects in partnership with a diverse group of stakeholders such as industry partners, governments and traditional communities in Northern Australia, Brazil, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste and Tropical Asia.
