The participants will have the opportunity to network with Sydney Migrant Engineers Group, Sydney Division and fellow engineers, learn from a migrant engineer’s personal experience of getting an engineering job in Australia and understand how becoming a Chartered engineer with Engineers Australia can help migrant engineers land on their first job in Australia.

About the speakers
Paul Sloam has been with Engineers Australia for around 8 years and is a senior Sydney based client manager. While Paul’s role is fairly broad in terms of responsibilities, a key and primary focus of his role is to provide engineers with the knowledge, guidance and assistance to attain the Chartered credential often referred to as the international ‘badge of best practice'.
As a recent arrival in Australia, Hans is applying his engineering expertise to the innovative world of hybrid manufacturing. With a strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University (US) and a strategic MBA from Monmouth University (US), Hans began his engineering career in the United States. He then broadened his horizons by venturing into logistics in the Philippines. Today, Hans is eager to learn and contribute his skills as the Manufacturing Manager for Romar Engineering, specializing in Hybrid Manufacturing. This cutting-edge field combines the power of additive manufacturing with traditional CNC machining, revolutionizing metal part production.
Gaudioso is a Civil and Structural Engineer with over 17 years of combined work experience from overseas and local expertise in the engineering industry delivering railway bridge and structures design/layout projects for almost 6 years in the Engineering and Maintenance Branch of Sydney Trains from the Civil Engineering Structures team. His other 11 years’ worth of experience has equipped him with well diverse skills and competency in the design and repair maintenance works for dams and irrigation canals, as well as the design and management of residential and commercial construction plans. He has also provided façade engineering design plans here in Australia and New Zealand. His volunteering passion started in 2018, where he joined the EA Western Sydney Regional Group. In 2022, he continued his passion to help migrant engineers where he currently chairs the group of EA Sydney Migrant Engineers.
