The Australian Engineering Excellence Awards, held on 7 August 2018, highlighted the depth of engineering excellence in Victoria. The awards placed a spotlight on innovation, engineering design, and the very best of the individuals, teams and organisations behind these great projects.
The quality of entries was exceptional, and we thank all entrants for their time and effort in compiling their submissions, and providing the judges with such stimulating and engaging abstracts and multimedia exhibits.
The awards ceremony saw industry heavyweights gather at Melbourne’s iconic Arts Centre to be entertained by comedian and MC Jean Kittson, as she enthralled the audience with her wit and knowledge of all things engineering.
The night culminated in the naming of the finalists of this year’s Victorian category of the Australian Engineering Excellence Awards, after the judges had selected seven projects they felt were worthy of consideration for national recognition:

These entries were then judged against submissions Australia-wide, and the winners announced at a gala dinner held during Engineers Australia’s Australian Engineering Conference 2018.
Congratulations to Webb Dock East International Container Terminal (AECOM Australia Pty Ltd, Victoria International Container Terminal Limited and Advanced Consulting Services Pty Ltd), who went on to win an Australian Engineering Excellence Award in the category of Infrastructure.
