Regional WA registration sessions ahead of introduction in July

From 1 July 2024 all Western Australian structural and fire safety engineers can begin applying for registration with the Building Services Board.

Registration of civil and mechanical engineers will follow, starting on 1 July 2025.

For each group there will be a two-year transition period to allow for engineers to gain registration. It will become mandatory for structural and fire safety engineers on 1 July 2026, and for civil and mechanical engineers on 1 July 2027.

As part of the registration process engineers will need to have their skills and qualifications assessed. Engineers Australia has been granted preliminary approval as an assessment entity.
