Transport Australia society road safety policy advice paper
This paper is intended to give guidance to policy makers and transport professionals to improve road safety.
Reducing infrastructure embodied emissions
Engineers Australia acknowledges that addressing embedded and active emissions in the infrastructure sector is a pressing global challenge that requires immediate attention. We advocate that consideration needs to be given to the social, economic and environment costs of climate change on infrastructure as part of managing current and future impacts. This paper was produced through Engineers Australia’s member delivered policy and advocacy initiative.
Decarbonising infrastructure: submission to Infrastructure Victoria
Engineers Australia recommends Infrastructure Victoria looks for consistency in collaboration with other Infrastructure bodies, and that they review Infrastructure Australia’s 2022 Replacement Materials report which shines a light on opportunities to use recycled materials in road infrastructure.
The future of transport discussion paper
With contributions from future of transport working group members this paper discusses pathways to a sustainable, decarbonised transport network including looking at transport though a systems view and enabling greater collaboration for project planning and funding.
Engineers Australia's Budget submission 2023
Engineers Australia advocates for skills, nationally consistent registration, engineering led climate action, a reliable energy transition and support for innovation in the 2023 Federal Budget.
Engineers Australia submission to National Electric Vehicle Strategy
Engineers Australia answers questions set by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water on the National Electric Vehicle Strategy.

The issue with insurance requirements for engineers Engineers Australia submission – NSW Reforming Building Laws
This paper clarifies the reasons why Engineers Australia does not support some of the existing provisions in the Design and Building Practitioners Act, proposed provisions in the Building Bill, and suggests an alternative way forward for the NSW Government.
Engineers Australia NSW Reforming Building Laws Submission
This submission outlines that Engineers Australia does not support moving the registration of professional engineers in NSW to a Building Bill. Engineers Australia strongly advocates for a stand-alone Professional Engineers Act.
Registration of Engineers in NSW Engineers Australia NSW Reforming Building Laws submission
This document provides Engineers Australia’s feedback to the proposed Building Bill 2022, specifically in relation to the registration of professional engineers. This should be read in conjunction with Engineers Australia’s NSW Reforming Building Laws submission and The issue with insurance requirements for engineers submission.
Engineers Australia submission to NETA Bill
Engineers Australia supports the creation of a National Energy Transition Authority (NETA). However, it needs a broader and stronger remit to ensure we can get the focus and guidance to complete the transition to clean, reliable and affordable energy in a timely fashion.

Engineers Australia response to the Review of Environmental Factors for Newcastle Light Rail
Engineers Australia has examined the REF for the Proposed Newcastle Light Rail (NLR) and has concluded that the Proposal does not satisfy the key transport and urban design objectives for which it has been planned (the NTUPP), that it fails to deliver an integrated transport system and that alternatives are available which can meet these objectives and this integration.
