Resetting our structure – a message from CEO Romilly Madew

Over the past couple of months, following our member roadshow with National President Dr Nick Fleming, we have taken on board feedback from members, employees and senior office bearers on Engineers Australia’s organisational effectiveness.

To that end, I am pleased to oversee some changes to our Executive and Leadership Team and reporting lines. This will enable us to better service our members via a flatter structure which brings together similar teams and ensures I am closer to our members, customers and key functions. We have also established a Policy and Public Affairs Group which will include our communications and media team, ensuring we continue to effectively advocate for and amplify the voice of the profession and the important work of our office bearers. You can see an overview of the new structure on our website.

The feedback from our members, volunteers and office bearers was instrumental in highlighting this opportunity to evolve our structure and to have it better align with our strategy. The purpose of these changes is to allow for greater clarity across roles and decision making, and to provide better outcomes for Engineers Australia on behalf of the profession. Our focus on advancing society through great engineering, providing leadership for the profession, a strong professional standards framework and an effective volunteer network is not changing.

We are acting now so we can hit the ground running and focussed in the New Year. We look forward to a productive year with you and for you.

Have a safe and happy break and see you in 2023.
