Engineers Australia welcomes the Workplace Gender Equality Agency public gender pay gap reporting initiative. The gender pay gap remains a persistent challenge in Australia and across many industries, and we support increased reporting, transparency and accountability as important steps to closing it.
Professional standards framework
The Engineers Australia Professional Standards Framework is the integrated system of policies, processes and resources that guide and support engineers to practice engineering ethically, competently and responsibly. It applies throughout their careers from pre-qualification through to advanced practice and executive management and leadership and is designed to set, uphold and enhance standards that protect the public and build resilience and trust in the profession.

Water security in the Northern Territory
Statement on water security in the Northern Territory: Engineers Australia acknowledges access to safe and secure supplies of drinking water are critical for human health and the wellbeing of present and future generations. We have set out seven principles that are key to delivering better water security outcomes in the Northern Territory.
Royal Charter and By-laws
Engineers Australia has operated under a Royal Charter since 1938. It also operates under a set of by-laws to ensure appropriate regulation and fair processes for governing boards and members alike.
Code of ethics
The Code of Ethics and Guidelines on Professional Conduct defines the values and principles that shape the decisions made, and provides a framework for members of Engineers Australia to use when exercising their judgment, in engineering practice and as members of Engineers Australia.

Information, Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering
Information, Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering (ITEE) deals with scientific and engineering design to develop computer modelling tools, broadband capability, improve telecommunications systems, hardware and software, systems for media broadcasting and sound, and sophisticated electronics.
Petroleum Engineering
Petroleum engineering deals with four main sub-disciplines which are reservoir, drilling, production, and formation evaluation engineering.
Naval Architecture
Naval architecture deals with the safe design and specification of marine vessels and structures. The naval architect can also be involved in the construction, repair, refit or operation of such marine vessels and structures.
Mechatronics Engineering
Mechatronics engineering is multidisciplinary and deals with integrating electrical and mechanical systems. It can include a combination of robotics, electronics, computing, telecommunications, systems, control, product engineering, and electronics to create functional, smart products.
Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical engineering deals with the application of the principles of engineering and physics with the study of advanced materials for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
Civil Engineering
Civil engineering deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment. Civil engineers generally specialise in one of a number of sub-disciplines.
