Engineers Australia highlights that decommissioning is a $60 billion opportunity for Australian industry and workers.

Engineers Australia provides this submission to the Queensland Government compiling the thoughts of
leaders in the engineering industry in response to the ShapingSEQ 2023 document. 

Engineers Australia's annual plan 2023-24 outlines key outcomes the business is striving to achieve this year.

This submission puts forward three areas which should be considered by the Productivity Commission in their review on ways Australia can improve productivity into the future.

Identifying avenues for increasing female participation in engineering, by understanding the motivators and barriers around entry and progression. 

Overseas-born engineers make up over 58 per cent of Australia’s engineering workforce but are significantly more likely than their Australian-born counterparts to be unemployed. To find out why and identify how to overcome the barriers to employment these engineers face, Engineers Australia commissioned research to identify potential barriers to employment.

Engineers Australia appreciates the opportunity to provide feedback to the Australian Bureau of Statistics on the targeted update of ANZSCO proposed changes. This letter has been developed to assist the ABS with the update by providing comments specific to the areas being reviewed relevant to the engineering profession. 

This report aims to contribute to an understanding of Australia’s engineering profession by compiling statistics about engineers in Australia. The statistical overview fills a gap created by the fragmented nature of Australian official statistics as they relate to specific professions and occupational groups.

Engineers Australia would like to thank the Victorian Government for their leadership in advancing registration of engineers in Australia. Engineering is one of the few professions in Australia without a national approach to registration to ensure the qualifications and experience of all practitioners, both national and international, is at the appropriate level for the engineering service delivered.
